This is from a student at UCLA who was in the Electrical Engineering program:

"Last year I enrolled in my first computer science class; I had never taken any programming classes before and had no previous knowledge of the field. At first the class was incredibly difficult. I found myself spending hours upon hours working on my projects, only to receive D’s and F’s on all of them. It was the first time in my academic career that I felt that I was drowning in a class; to the point that I was considering transferring out of engineering school.
After having a long, meaningful conversation with my parents, I decided to hire a tutor. I contacted Harley with about three weeks left in the class. At the time I was not passing the class, and there were only about three projects left for me to make up for my poor performance. For a class that was incredibly difficult, and a subject that is very abstract and hard at times to understand, Harley was able to talk down to my level. He did an incredible job of explaining every Computer Science concept I needed to know, and he would make sure that I fully understood everything before he would move on. He was very flexible with our tutoring schedule, coming to UCLA to meet with me once a week and to help me with all of my projects. While Harley did help me with all of my projects, obviously improving my project grades, his ability to explain the concepts behind the projects showed in my final test grade; after receiving a grade in the lower 25 percent of the class on my midterm, I received a grade in the upper 50 percent of the class on my final, going from a possible D or F in the class to a B-. Harley gave me the confidence to do well in a subject that I thought was impossible for me to understand. I would give Harley the highest recommendation to any student seeking help in Computer Science."
